Who we are

Gibb Building Wanaka Ltd is a Wanaka Construction Company established by Nevin Gibb which specialises in bespoke custom-built Architectural Homes.

Nevin and his GBWL team pride themselves on their reputation of delivering homes built to the highest standard using superior design and construction elements, with attention to quality and detail; and a work ethic of only delivering excellence.

Nevin Gibb is both a licensed building practitioner as well as a member of the New Zealand Certified Builders Association.

WHAT WE DO & Why we do it

Our focus at GBWL is to work alongside the architect and/or our clients from the early stages to understand the overall concept of the project and to work together to ensure we achieve and meet all of the client’s brief and exceed their expectations.

This could be also to help work through sourcing and the using of alternative methods or materials, looking at the cost effectiveness using our years of practical knowledge to assist the architect and the owners in constructing and completing a superior build.

We also understand embarking on a new build is often one of the biggest decisions you will make and choosing the right builder and team to work with will be an integral part of the process, not only ensuring excellence but that you as the owners enjoy the overall experience. Nevin is both an experienced builder and project manager with more than 20 years of architectural build and management experience.

Within the GBWL team we have strong relationships we have built over the years with our subcontractors who also understand our client’s vision and equally set the same high standard of workmanship.

The GBWL team and our subcontractors always take pride in seeing a new home or renovation being handed over to the owners, completed to meet their vision, on time, on budget and to the highest possible standard.

GBWL also belongs to the New Zealand Certified Builder Association the only builder’s association in New Zealand with strict entry criteria where the minimum entry requirement for all members is a recognised industry trade qualification, with  have a history of stability and success and a solid reputation for realising homeowners’ aspirations. NZCB builders can also exclusively offer Halo 10-Year Residential Guarantee’s protecting you after the building process, and for the next 10-Years. It provides much greater protection than both the Building Act and Consumer Guarantees Act.

In the Building Industry experience and reputation is everything, this is where Gibb Building Wanaka has built a strong and successful history in the Wanaka area; providing both a full build and project management service from the ground up. From the early stages of planning and concept, through to architects drawings and engineers, resource and consenting, quoting, the build, and mostly importantly the handing over of your dream becoming reality.

For over 20 years Nevin has led his team at Gibb Building Wanaka, and oversees all GBWL’s building operations, taking responsibility for ensuring all projects are completed on time, on budget and to specification. This is in keeping with Nevins hands on approach and leading the team from the ground up. Communication paying a key role between, builder, client and architect particularly when dealing with the bespoke nature of architectural building, and often absentee owners.

Team

Nevin is both a trade qualified builder and licensed builder with over 30 years in the construction industry, the past 20+ years have been spent not only as a reputable builder but as a successful business operator who has built a solid and successful reputation within the building industry and his Wanaka based business.

For over 15 years Nevin has led his team at Gibb Building Wanaka, which specialises in high end bespoke architectural builds, and oversees all GBWL’s building operations, taking responsibility for ensuring all projects are completed on time, on budget and to specification. This is in keeping with Nevins hands on approach and leading the team from the ground up.

He brings an incredible amount of experience and knowledge and prides himself on the relationships he builds with all his clients and architects.

Nevin works closely with all the GBWL team from our Project Managers and the Site Foreman to our sub-contractor teams to ensure we are all one team delivering excellence for our clients.

This also includes working closely with the administrative team, again ensuring all aspects of our projects are managed meticulously, with attention to communication and details.

On a personal level Nevin a considers himself incredibly fortunate to be living in Wanaka alongside his partner Sara. Sara has also been involved in property development in Wanaka, and runs an interiors importing business. They have two sons who are very much into everything and anything.
